Brownland Fall was a successful show overall!  Hayley Barnhill won the USET,  and was 1st overall in the Washington .  Lindsey Strafuss was 4th in the Maclay and 2nd in the USET.  Lizzie Aycock was 1st in the Maclay, 1st in the USEF Medal, and 3rd overall in the Washington.  Ultaire was Champion in the level 4 jumpers.  Lindsey Belz was Champion in the Medium Ponies. Congrats to all!

Kentucky was literally a washout!!!  Despite cancelled classes and flooding, ribbons were still won!  Hayley was 8th in the Regional Warm Up, 7th in the Maclay Regionals, 3rd overall in the Washington, and 2nd in Small Juniors.  Taylor Byram was 4th in the Regional Warm Up.  Lindsey was 5th overall in the Washington. Michael and Woody were Champions in the Pre-Green Division, despite not showing the second day due to the rain!  Michael and Lordy won the 1.3 meter class.  Caroline and Lucas brought home beautiful purple ribbons from the Most Mature Adult Division, and managed to survive the most challenging schooling situation!  Elizabeth got top ribbons in the older Large Junior Division. Good job to one and all!

SPRING MILL NEWS:

Congratulations to Lauren Bishop on the purchase of her horse, Land Rover.  Also, congratulations to Lizzie Aycock on the purchase of Drafi, and Dee Pellegrini on the purchase of her horse, Cadiz.  Rover has been around the barn over a year now, and is finally the official Bishop horse!  Drafi is Lizzie’s new equitation horse that she had leased for the last couple months.  Cadiz is a new horse to our barn…a 5 year old Danish Warm Blood, who will be showing with both Dee and Michael.  Good luck to all!

AS THE WHEEL TURNS, THE HAMSTER’S CORNER….

By Caroline Milot

As we approach fall, start locating your horse or pony’s stable sheets.  Once we switch over to morning/afternoon turn out (which will probably be in October some time), you can take your fly sheets home for the season.

For all of our Harrisburg competitors, David and Michael want to let everyone know that ALL COMPETITORS WILL BE REQUIRED TO BE ON FULL CARE.

If you have any questions, please consult Michael or David.  Parents; this is a stressful enough situation for you, your children, and your trainers.  Please watch from the stands and enjoy the show.

SOME THOUGHTS…

I am sorry to disappoint, but I will not have my usual column this month, as I have been away, fulfilling my horse show secretary obligations.  Next month, I will have plenty for you to read!  …Barney…
