Despite the heavy rain on schooling day, the Harvest Time show went well
and we enjoyed unseasonably warm and sunny weather. Bayley was Reserve
Champion in the Future Hunters. Castle was Champion in Medium Ponies and
won the Classic. Drafi was Champion in the Children’s/Adult Jumpers, and
he and Lizzie won the Children’s/Adult Jumper Classic. Graphic won the
WIHS overall. Peyton and Bonnie Belz were Reserve Champions in the
Modifieds. Reggie and David Becker won every jumper class they entered!
Susie Ross’ Sport was Champion in the Baby Greens. Brittany Rae and
Tellus were Champions in the Children’s and they won the Classic.
Congrats to the over 30 horses from Spring Mill that competed!
Congratulations to Hayley Barnhill, who competed at Syracuse! What an
accomplishment! |

Fun and interesting equine facts…
Did you know that horses can see in color? They can also see in two
directions at once! Also, a horse focuses its eye by changing the angle
of its head, not by changing the shape of the lens of the eye as humans
do. A horse has two blind spots…one directly in front of him, and one
directly behind him! The teeth take up more room in a horses head than
its brain! (That explains a lot!!!) For more interesting equine trivia,
