HORSE SHOW RESULTS:

Despite the frigid temperatures outside, things were hot indoors at the St. Louis show!  Woody was Champion in the 1st years with Michael in the irons. Woody was also first in the Freestyle Hunter Class, and won 3 out of 5 warm ups.  He took 6th place in the Open Hunter Classic.  Dane and Michael took the tri-color in the second years, winning every class in the division!  Lordy was 5th out of 36 in the Welcome Stakes and finished 8th in the Grand Prix out of 32.  Lordy had 4 faults in the 1st round and only two jumped clean.  Cody and M.K. won the Low Junior/Amateur Jumper Classic.  The pair also won another Jr. /Am. Class on Friday to end up Low Junior/Amateur Champions!  Keepsake and Barney were Reserve Champions in the Children’s/Adult Jumpers, winning two classes in the division.  Will got pinned in every Large Pony class, was 3rd in the hack and 3rd in the WIHS Pony Medal.  Toby was 2nd in the Maclay and 1st in the WIHS Hunter Phase.  Tommy and Hayley took the tri-color in the Small Junior Hunters.

Castle and Lindsey Belz were Champions in the Medium Ponies, 2nd in the Classic, and 2nd in the WIHS Pony Medal!  Congratulations to all…with a total of nine horses competing, and 6 tri-colors, all were winners!

The temperatures were lovely at the Mid Winter Melt Down! Much better than last year’s deep freeze! Dane was Reserve Champion in the Green Working Hunters and Champion in the Older Junior Hunters.  Woody was Champion in the Green Working Hunters.  Cody was Champion in the Modified Junior/Amateur Jumpers.  Lemon took a 1st in the Level III Jumpers, a 2nd in the Adult Amateur Jumpers, and a 4th in the Adult Amateur Classic.  Oscar won great ribbons in the Level IV, V, & VI Jumpers and made his Mini Prix Debut jumping double clear!!!  Drafi was 2nd in the Junior Hunter Hack with great ribbons over fences.  Lizzie and Drafi finished 2nd in the WIHS Jumper Phase.  Maggie was 3rd in the Junior Hunter Hack and also had good ribbons over fences.  Barney and Keepsake won the NAL Children’s/Adult Jumper Classic.  Tommy and Hayley were Champions in the Younger Junior Hunters.  Toby was 4th in the Maclay, 3rd in the USEF Medal, and finished 2nd overall in the WIHS Equitation.  Castle was Reserve Champion in the Medium Ponies.  George and Dee took the tri-color in the Adult Amateurs.  George and Taylor were 1st in the USEF Medal and 2nd in the Maclay.  Kenny was Reserve Champion in the Children’s Hunters.  Lucas and Caroline won great ribbons in the Adults.  Lordy finished 5th in the Mini Prix!  It was an exciting show all around!  What a great kick off to the 2007 show season!

AS THE WHEEL TURNS…THE HAMSTER”S CORNER

By Caroline Milot

Happy holidays to everyone!  The New Year is upon us, so everyone needs to be thinking about their Winter Circuit horse show plans.  Gulfport is going to happen; so let me know which weeks you are interested in attending.  The series runs from February 14 – March 18, 2007.  As with all Classic Company shows, a pre-paid stall check must be attached to each week’s entry, along with a blank entry check.  You may also use a credit card to pre-pay your stalls, but be aware that your credit card will be charged prior to the show.  If you use your credit card for your show bill, the office will need to swipe your card each week on check out day.

I am doing pretty well getting everyone’s new 2007 USEF/USHJA membership cards, but if you have not gotten yours yet, don’t delay.  It’s easy to renew on line and you can print a temporary card that will suffice until they mail you your permanent card.  Bring me a copy of all your cards for 2007 for the show book.

Enclosed in this month’s bill is a medical release form which all boarders need to fill out and return with their board payment.  I will need these forms returned to me by January 31, 2007.  If you don’t have your form turned in by January 31, you will be unable to ride or lesson until the form is completed and returned.  This request is for everyone’s safety and well being…and we appreciate your cooperation!
