HORSE SHOW
RESULTS
Due to the
overwhelming success of our riders and the large number of horses
competing at the horse shows, we find ourselves limited to reporting
champions, reserve champions and equitation wins. Please know that
each and every time you and your horse step into the show ring, you
are already a winner! You have been successful in many, many
ways…from weekly lessons and care of your horse, to filling out
entries, to the time, dedication and attention to detail required to
stand at the in gate, dressed out and ready to go. All of these
often overlooked successes enable you to leave the ring with a
smile, and sense of accomplishment, and possibly a ribbon! Having
said that…here are the Labor Day show results! Maggie and Lizzie
were Reserve Champions in the small Juniors. No Worries and Andy
were Champions in the Baby Greens. Tellus was Reserve Champion in
the Children’s and 1st in the Classic. Toby and Hayley
won the USEF Talent Search as well as the WIHS overall. Violet and
Hayley were Reserve Champions in the
Junior Jumpers, while MK and Cody
were Champions! Westie and Tracy were Champions in the Level 1
Jumpers. Bentley was Reserve Champion in the 1st Years and Matt and
Bentley were Champions in the younger adults. Will and Ali were
Reserve Champions in the Large/Medium Ponies and the pair won the
WIHS Equitation. George and Dee were Reserve Champions in the
A/O’s. Muchacha was Reserve Champion in the Future Hunters. Cates
and Sarah were Champions in the Children’s. Congratulations to all
of our competitors!
Brownland was a
good show…and with cooler weather! Woody was 2nd in the
Pro Am classic. Violet and Hayley were Reserve Champions in the
zone 4 finals. Duncan was 7th in the Pro Am Classic.
Toby and Hayley won the USEF, the WIHS Hunter and Jumper phases and
the USET! Taylor Byram won the 15 – 17 equitation class. Congrats
to all who competed!

AS THE
WHEEL TURNS….THE HAMSTER”S CORNER
By Caroline Milot
It’s getting
close to that time of year when we will be switching to morning and
afternoon turn out. Once the
weather truly turns fall like, you
will need to take your fly sheets home for the season and replace it
with your horse or pony’s stable sheet (making sure it is clearly
labeled with your name). Remember, everyone’s sheet looks a lot
alike, so to make it easy on our staff, and to help insure that it
ends up on the correct horse or pony, please have it clearly
labeled!
Griffin,
A.K.A. Northern Lights, has become a California boy, taking up his
new residence in Santa Barbara, California! All the best to Griffin
and his new owner Allison Barrett.
With school
back in session, many of you “kids” may be riding after our barn
staff has finished for the day. SO PLEASE MAKE A CONCERTED EFFORT
TO CLEAN UP AFTER YOU RIDE! No one likes to walk into a messy barn
the next day, plus it’s just common courtesy to clean up after you
are finished. Just because someone else may be riding after you
doesn’t mean you should leave the wash racks dirty!!!
We
have instituted a $25.00 charge for Spring Mill Farm’s processing of
late show entries. The posted closing dates are very important, and
if you decide to attend a show once our entries have been sent or
the farm’s check is used to guarantee your entry, the charge will be
assessed. Always check with me if your entry is late, as I will
need to contact the horse show and make sure a stall is available
for you and your horse! If the farm check is attached to your
entry, make sure you substitute your check on your
entry when you get to the horse
show.
