Gulfport was quite a circuit!  We did manage to fill our seating area valence with blue ribbons!  Everyone had a wonderful time and made Spring Mill Farm proud with everyone’s accomplishments.

We welcome back Barney Mallace with his new jumper Aventura, barn name Bud, (owned by Peggy Jones), and I came home with a new mount as well, show name Nose Better, barn name Ricky.  Melody Haynes is also back with three, Charlie, Princess and Isabella.  All three will be in training.  Hayley Barnhill brought home her new jumper, Maggie that she showed very successfully down in Gulfport.  Matt Rebholz is going to be taking over the reins of Forever Young, A.K.A. Bentley.  Good luck Matt!

With spring time upon us, it’s time to find your fly sheets and get them ready to come to the barn once we are sure the cold weather is gone and sheets and blankets can all be laundered and taken home for the season.  As usual, make sure your fly sheets are marked with your name so it will get on your horse and not some other equine!

Spring Mill Farm is going to attend the Blowing Rock Charity Horse Show this year and, as always, stalls sell out early.  The dates are July 30th – August 10th.  We have committed to 17 stalls for both weeks, since the show requires that exhibitors attend both weeks.  These stalls have been pre-paid by Spring Mill Farm.  If you would like to attend, I will need a check made out to Spring Mill Farm for $350.00 for the two weeks PER HORSE.  As of now, there are still 7 available stalls in our count.  I have a sign up list in the office, so bring your check and let me know if you want to attend.

SPRING MILL NEWS

Have you noticed the new bank jump complex that is being constructed just beyond the bridge?  This new jump will have three different levels from 1 – 3 feet in height.  We will be seeing more of this type of natural jump in the high performance hunter classes and the equitation finals!  We are also expanding the riding area beyond the bridge!

If you happen to bring your favorite canine to the farm, please be sure that your dog, or dogs if the case may be, is respectful of the full time four legged residents of Spring Mill.  This means cats, dogs, and horses alike.  Also, please be sure that your dog will not enter either ring, or scare off any of our boarders and/or barn help! This is for everyone’s safety and enjoyment!
