HORSE SHOW RESULTS

Despite the frigid temperatures and the show being cancelled Friday, the first week of Gulfport was a big success!  Belynda Bond rode Basie in the 1^st Years and was Champion!  Mary Haley and Woody ribboned in the A/o Hunters, won the 3’6” NCE Amateur equitation, and placed 8^th in the Classic.  Maura and Drafi were great in the 3’3” A/O’s taking all red ribbons and the pair finished 7^th in the Classic.  Leah and Bongo took the tri-color in the Small Juniors, won the Best Child Rider award and finished 2^nd in the Classic. Leah and Tory were 7^th in the ASPCA and 2^nd in the USEF Medal and won overall in the WIHS. Alyson and Kenny also did well in the Small Juniors, were 6^th in the WIHS Hunter phase, and 6^th in the Classic.  Carson Rode Whiz Kid in the Large Juniors.  Caroline and Dee both rode in the older Adults and came away with ribbons.  Belynda Bond rode Pappy in the Special 3’ Hunters and came away with good ribbons. 

Week two provided better weather and plenty of ribbons!  Belynda and Basie did the 1^st Years again.  Basie also did the Younger Adults with Sara Stephens and the pair ended up Reserve Champions, finished 2^nd in the Adult NCE, and were 8^th in the Classic!  Mary Haley and Woody had good trips in the A/O’s and the Classic.  Maura and Drafi were Reserve Champions in the 3’3” A/O’s, and finished 3^rd in the Ariat.  Leah blew out her knee and was unable to show for a day or two but Gillen helped ride Bongo and they all ended up Champions in the Small Juniors!  Kenny and Alyson did well in the Small Juniors, and they were 8^th in the Maclay, 2nd in the NCE, and 7^th in the Classic. Zorro and Sara Clifton did well in the Small Ponies and were 4^th in the Pony Equitation and the Pony WIHS, and 9^th in the Classic. Dee and Caroline both had another good week in the older Adults.  Toby and Carson were back in the ring together after a couple months of Toby recovering!  The pair did well in the older Children’s, finished 3^rd in the Children’s NCE, and were 5^th in the Classic.  Belynda and Elmo got some ribbons in the 3’ Pre-Greens.  Pappy and Belynda won he under saddle on the 2’9” Special Hunters.  Maida and Opie ribboned in the Low Child Adult Jumpers.  Gillen and Cody ribboned in the Open Jumpers and finished 7^th in the Low Jr/Am Jumper Classic
