Katie North

Katie North has recently joined the Spring Mill training staff. A native of Canada, Katie started riding under David Pellegrini at age 13, where she successfully competed in the Junior Hunters, the Junior Jumpers and especially Equitation.

In the Equitation field, Katie successfully qualified for and competed in all the National Equitation Finals, including WIHS, USET, AHSA Medal and the ASPCA Maclay.

During her career, Katie competed on the East Coast, from Florida to Kentucky, up to Pennsylvania and Washington, and even Canada. Katie earned top ribbons including the Zone 4 Finals AHSA Medal Champion in Atlanta, the WIHS Medal Overall Champion at the Olympic Horse Trials Horse Show, and the Capitol Classic in Ontario, Canada.

After moving into the adult age group, Katie successfully brought her young horse from the Baby Greens to the Adult Amateur Owner Hunters, as well as the adult Medal classes, receiving top ribbons throughout.

While competing with her young horse, Katie also started at the University of Memphis, where she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 2005. Katie graduated Marshall College Summa Cum Laude  and also graduated with University Honors, including Thesis. After Graduation, Katie worked for a year in the "real world" but felt horses were still her passion, and accepted the opportunity to work with David Pellegrini and Spring Mill Farm.
